  1. Simple and secure journal app

  2. A second brain, for you, forever. Obsidian is a powerful knowledge base that works on top of a local folder of plain text Markdown files.
Another option could be a markdown editor. Like Obsidian.md for example. There you can create daily templates and write to them. But using this method you have to organize your own files etc based on your preferences. Because there is no encryption you can create your folder / markdown structure in Cryptomator vault or something like that to keep it secure.

  3. When it comes to saving your files on a cloud server, it is important to ensure the security of those files. Keeping your delicate files out of the wrong hands can save you a lot of time and hassle. Read more about Cryptomator.

  5. RedNotebook is a software that format, tag and search entries and add pictures, links and customizable templates, spell check notes, and export to plain text, HTML, Latex or PDF.
But if you're looking for an app with a similar look and feel, I agree with u/Aaaaaidan that Rednotebook is very similar to minidiary (however encrypted notes would have to be protected by an external application).

I've been working on GitJournal. It was meant as only a journaling app, but has morphed into a mix of journaling and note taking.
