I suggest something like theodinproject.com. It's a program designed specifically to help you get employed as a web dev and it's free. There are a number of free courses in the CS50 curriculum, which you can audit for free, with challenging projects and dedicated forums where you can ask for help. Becoming an active member in these communities will give you the sense of collaboration you're likely seeking from a more structured program.

Another example is the website monday.com. I can tell that it isn't perfect. For example, you cannot change the default color of a task. So if you are going to be a front-end developer, you can now start writing a program similar to monday.com. It doesn't have to have all the bells and whistles like a database and a domain along with all the security measures. But if you can build something like that as you learn along, that will prove to the employers you are truly capable of solving their problems despite your basic knowledge of programming syntax. And trust me, it is not impossible. I built a website similar to Facebook for my programming project in college. It was very simple. It had a log-in page, a comment box, a calendar, and an email verification when you sign up for an account. It only used PHP, MySQL, and basic Javascript.
