You could also try whatoplay.com - they take at least 3 critic reviews and the average over user ratings from steam, gog.com etc. And then generate an aggregate rating from that. However, niche games will suffer from that (but these could still be great games).

I would be careful there are plenty of bad popular games. Like Cyberpunk, and valheim which are both top 10 all time steam games. Cyberpunk was so broken they are being sued by governments lol and Valhiems while it isn't a horrible game it isn't good. The game is a mash of copied shallow mechanics, put into a uninspired world where you just grind, and the ai is too stupid to figure out steps. Both of these games were propped up by the Streamer Industrial Complex. This is where streamers systematically bandwagon games to create extreme hype that they can use to exploit populations think fishing in a barrel. Hello Neibor, Fall guys, the forest ect ect. https://steamcharts.com/ is a good way to see how games preform long term cyberpunk 2077 800k to 24k current and Valhiem 400+k to 96k now. As you can see the bad games have a steam downward trend after the hype is gone because if they were good people would still be playing them. Another good place is twitch the streaming platform. I know I talked a lot about how streamers are scum, but if you watch the steams and ignore what they are saying you can find issues that would be a problem. It is live they can't edit out bugs and failed mechanics.
