Some of you might be familiar with the youtube comedian joel haver. he's been making surreal comedy vids for a while now, but has recently (within the past couple months) been rapidly gaining popularity. This new popularity is largely due to a series of shorts he made poking fun at RPG tropes. These videos have a distinctive trippy style which comes from joel's use of a AI-powered rotoscoping tool called ebsynth. now, ebsynth has been popular among new media/glitch/etc. Artists ever since it came out in 2018, but outside that niche it is pretty obscure. As a result, joel's fans had come to view anything that uses it as "joel's style".

Stylegan this is the tech behind all those "this ___ does not exist" sites. it's actually surprisingly easy to use if you know how to use the terminal (and preferably a little bit of python).

Deep dream generator haven't used the new version but the original is a classic. Lots of news coverage when it first came out, so there's a good chance you already know about it.
