Update. After locating a link to experianidworks.com on the experian.com website, I now trust the website, especially in conjunction with an Experian customer service rep providing me the number on the experianidworks.com website. And since the rep via that same number (for Experian Identity Works and on the website) confirmed the legitimacy of the letter sent to me - I moved forward and created an account. Turns out it is all legit.
