Would you be appreciative of someone reaching out if they found an old photo of your ancestor?

This happened to me as well. A distant cousin found me on ancestry.com and sent me around 50 photos of various relatives, including my great great grandparents, great grandparents, and my grandfather from ages 2 to about 10 or so. My surname-sake family so it made it a little more special. It was amazing. I didn't know what my great grandfather looked like until then, let alone my great great grandfather!

I kinda do the same thing. I come from a small town where most people there came from a certain area in the Netherlands. So if someone shares a picture of there neighbor I will usually do there family tree if I can and find out how they are related to me. I then put them on geni.com so others can see how they are related too.
