  • Escaping Surveillance Capitalism, at Scale
    > I've used https://adnauseam.io/ for years. It's great. No it isn't. It does nothing to make your data worthless. You're only giving data brokers more ammo to use against you. See my comment here: https://news.ycombinator.com/item?id=39043547#39044239. - Source: Hacker News / 4 months ago
  • Escaping Surveillance Capitalism, at Scale
I've used https://adnauseam.io/ for years. It's great. First, it hides (most of) the ads making the internet more tolerable. Then it clicks on ALL of them making your profile worthless. The last time I pulled up my Google profile, it said I was a 18-99yo, both male and female, and was interested in EVERY topic they listed. It works in both Brave and Chrome but isn't available in the Chrome Extension Store for some... - Source: Hacker News / 4 months ago
  • Firefox on the Brink?
They also don't ban and lie about anti-tracking extensions like AdNausium (a data poisoning adblocker[0]). Chrome banned it from their store. As well as other extensions like Bypass Paywalls Clean. Ultimately the Firefox addon ecosystem is simply freer [0] https://adnauseam.io/. - Source: Hacker News / 5 months ago

  • Bear Does Analytics with CSS
I never said anything about access logs, I specifically mentioned this CSS trick that will become popular for ad companies to track people. For this, this would need to block the endpoint or send obfuscated data deliberately in protest of this. Should you want to cover access logs also, then forms of tracking then sending excessive, random obfuscation data with adnauseam would also help here.... - Source: Hacker News / 6 months ago
  • Bear Does Analytics with CSS
How would one block this from tracking you? I think we would either need to send fake data to these analytics tools deliberately like https://adnauseam.io/ Or now include CSS as a spy tracker that needs to be blocked. - Source: Hacker News / 6 months ago

  • New to Firefox, any good Ad Blocker?
Adnauseam it's an ad blocker that screws with the advertisers by clicking the ads in the background. It wastes their money and acts like an anylitcs smokescreen. It's so effective that Google banned it! Source: 8 months ago

  • Sites scramble to block ChatGPT web crawler after instructions emerge
I wonder if its worth poisoning the replies for scrapers that don't obey robots.txt. Send back nonsense, lies, and noise. This would be an adversarial approach like https://adnauseam.io/ uses for ad tracking. - Source: Hacker News / 9 months ago
