  • Typing without cursor feedback is better... like in 10 fast fingers.
10 fast fingers still colors the word red if you made any mistake in that word but it wont show you what or where the mistakes are, or at least not easily without losing precious seconds... You have to look down to another box and find the mistake... So it punishes you for not knowing where you made the mistake... It forces you to be mentally aware of each letter you are typing... Making you more accurate in a... Source: 6 months ago
  • How do I switch from qwerty to dvorak fast?
If you were learning it before May 2020 when Monkeytype first came into existence, then the default test on 10fastfingers.com which uses a selection of 302 words contains all of the 100 most common words in the English language. 10Fastfingers has been around since October 2007. • How to effectively use control keys on keyboard.
I've been using this site to practice my typing however, never found something related to this keys reason why I can type around 60 words per minute but I still have a lot of problems to use this one. Source: 11 months ago
  • What websites are best for getting better at typing?
There are sites that will have you cycling through lists of random words like 10fastfingers.com and problemwords.com. Source: 12 months ago
  • Does anyone have any resources for how to be a better typer?
What I did was look up the touch typing hand layout (googling it is pretty easy), then just force myself to use it. I started off going from 37wpm to 7wpm, but through a lot of use (especially doing daily type tests on websites like https://play.typeracer.com/ or https://10fastfingers.com/ ) I'm now at ~65wpm without looking after a couple months. • wanna know the average typing speed in this sub

  • More people need to practice this skill.
Sites I recommend: keybr.com for fine tuning after you know proper technique. Learn this from typingtournament.com and practice your speed on monkeytype.com and 10fastfingers.com . Source: about 1 year ago
  • Why
Monkeytype is the most visited and has the most traffic typing website (with over 130+ thousand unique users daily) compared to 10fastfingers.com, typeracer.com, typrx.com, nitrotype.com, keybr.com, keyhero.com, etc...., and that's according to https://www.siteworthtraffic.com/report/monkeytype.com. Personally, Monkeytype is really addicting because of its user-friendly layouts (you can choose your own theme and... Source: about 1 year ago
  • How to get top 300/100/50 badges.
Yeah, but why couldn't they re implement it, but with better filtering. 10fastfingers.com seems to manage this. I never see unreachable WPM on there? Source: about 1 year ago
  • How does everyone know how to type on a keyboard with both hands?
I learned through websites, like this one or this one. You can also practice your skills here or here. Source: about 1 year ago
  • day 4 of trying for 100wpm (60sec) [pr-94wpm]. i matched my pr today! someone in the last post suggested i should work on my accuracy and i did just that, to which i saw an instant improvement.
10fastfingers.com also motivates you to keep typing however, as you are always trying to reach the top 20. Not actually that hard tho. You only need like 93WPM to do it. Do keep in mind, you will need to have an account, or all that hard work will be wasted as you won't appear on the leaderboard!!! Source: about 1 year ago
  • Finally! 100WPM Goal reached!
I finally breached the 100WPM barrier, and got a new PB! All credit to monkeytype.com keybr.com and 10fastfingers.com as well as typingtournament.com for helping me get started! Source: about 1 year ago

  • I started at 17th September 2022 with 60wpm(English 200, 60s). Now I can type 121wpm (English200, 60s)
Compete with others and try to reach personal best on 10fastfingers.com: Now that I had developed my muscle memory and I could type fairly quickly, somewhere around 70-75wpm on a good test, I went to this site and joined competitions. I reached 80-90wpm in this site regularly after practising for months. Source: over 1 year ago
  • Competitive Typing
Https://10fastfingers.com/ has so called typing competitions, where you have 24 hours to get the best WPM on 1 minute of randomized words (top 200 most common). Source: over 1 year ago
  • How to train capital letters
Typically what people do is they will spend a lot of time on the default settings on sites like 10fastfingers.com or Monkeytype.com that will only ever feed them the same 200 to 300 words in different random orders. They will spend hours and hours over many weeks and months repeatedly cycling though these words and they will get very good at them. That's great. It's exactly what you should be doing. • English as a second language
Other useful typing websites I use are play.typeracer.com and 10fastfingers.com. Source: over 1 year ago
  • New record
I see from the screenshot that you have 100% accuracy and 80% consistency. I hope this post is made in mischief. If not, then you need to slow down and practice text with the intention of accuracy. You can use the Monkeytype master difficulty mode which will quit a race if even a single mistake is made. My personal best is 108wpm with 100% accuracy on 10fastfingers.com words 200 list. I practice in master mode... Source: over 1 year ago

  • I am 48 y.o., never learned to touchtype. Do you think that there is any chance I still could learn?
When I started, I was a freshman and was geeked out to see people typing fast. I was so fascinated, I searched people on youtube typing fast without even peeking at the keyboard. Being a Computer Science fellow, I decided to learn to touch-type even before writing a single piece of code. For this, a video from Kalle Hallden helped a lot, gave me the motivation to learn and improve. I started with www.keybr.com, a... Source: over 1 year ago
