I recommend Wire. It's end-to-end encrypted, and it's so secure governments use it. It's free if you just download it. It does not ask for any personal information except an email account to sign up with, and you can quickly make a new email with protonmail. Wire : has also been recommended by Snowden, but not held by him in as high regard as Signal. They do not technically currently support phones that do not have Google Play Service but they used to approximately 5 years ago and as such, they do have code that allows them to work on GrapheneOS to some extent and their customer service rep has indicated to me that they are in the process of supporting deGoogled...
