The ODL Press leagues have started on Playdiplomacy and Backstabbr. On webDiplomacy I'm waiting for a volunteer to create the game for me. Source: about 1 year ago
I really wish webdiplomacy.net would clean up their website to be more professional looking like this. Source: over 1 year ago
Playdiplomacy runs mentor games every once in a while. I've run them there before - I don't have time at the moment. Webdiplomacy had a similar type of game, too - don't know if they still do. He might want to try these. To be fair, though, with the ODC in the 3rd and 4th rounds, Nexus and Olympus tournaments hitting the semi-finals, finding someone to run this type of game might be difficult. Source: over 1 year ago
In late November, Meta announced Cicero, an AI agent that can beat humans at the strategy board game Diplomacy in online games played on webDiplomacy.net. That's a major achievement because Diplomacy is a largely social game that requires extensive persuasion, cooperation, and negotiation with other players to win. Basically, Meta developed a bot that could fool humans into thinking they were playing with another... Source: over 1 year ago
I was casually interested to know if one could play at this game, and I found out that you can go single player vs. Bots here: https://webdiplomacy.net/. - Source: Hacker News / over 1 year ago

Have you tried Diplomacy? https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Diplomacy_(game) JFK’s fave game, apparently. Have done several online games with friends — took 2-3 months each with 24-48 hour turns. Wild stuff, got very intense https://webdiplomacy.net/. Source: over 1 year ago
Https://webdiplomacy.net/ is a fully open-source Diplomacy website which has served as the foundation for many other sites as a result. It has a pretty solid community and tournament scene but they tend to be people who are used to the site rather than new players - the use of dropdown boxes for order entry, the look of the map and suchlike definitely show its age. The most popular place to play online that I know of is webdiplomacy.net. Source: almost 2 years ago

The ODC is held (roughly) every two years, co-hosted by webDiplomacy and Playdiplomacy. The 2022 ODC is the Playdiplomacy Classic Open tournament this year and we're at, currently, 50 sign-ups. Source: about 2 years ago

Virtual Face to Face community pretty much exclusively uses Backstabbr, because it has a point and click interface where it's easy to see what you've entered quickly. The extended deadline (written press) community is much less unified, I'd say the best players in that tend to be on webDiplomacy and PlayDiplomacy although both are quite dated. The Nexus Discord server is a good place to find high level players... Source: about 2 years ago
So for context, my gaming group has always had to play online because we lived so far apart. We did pbp for awhile along with group calls and such. In between adventures, we would often play webdiplomacy.net . One experiment we did was running a pbp game that had the same play rhythm as diplomacy, and it went REALLY well, we all had a great time and it worked way better than just texting 5e rolls. Each round... Source: over 2 years ago
So I am currently writing an RPG using a system of my own design. Basically as a character gets more Ranks in a Stat, they get to use bigger dice (adding a new die at the bottom of the progression every time they reach the cap). The game is designed to be asynchronous (follows the same rhythm of play as you might find in a game of webdiplomacy.net for reference). Source: over 2 years ago
