Emulate midi input. Run a loopback midi driver and a program that can send (and optionally receive) midi. For example, you can run LoopBe1 and VMPK. VMPK (https://vmpk.sourceforge.io/) is handy too - it's a virtual MIDI keyboard that you can use to play some of the stuff in MAME if you don't have a real MIDI keyboard of some sort. Works on Windows, Linux, and Mac. Source: almost 3 years ago
