Having trouble deciding which song to listen to? Create a page that connects to your Spotify library and includes a button that randomly selects an album from your collection or plays a random song. Use the Spotify API to integrate it with your account. - Source: dev.to / 11 months ago
Having a look here https://developer.spotify.com/documentation/web-api, it appears you can't search by genre, only get recommendations, so you would need to manually create a list of Spotify IDs for metalcore artists. Source: 11 months ago

Assuming that you’re looking for ideas, you can use Spotify Web API to build some kind of spotify clone portfolio. You can also try to integrate their SDK to enable the player (but this requires premium subscriptions). Source: over 1 year ago

One of the great things about the Spotify Web API is that it's well-documented, meaning that it's easy to get started with and use their API. You can find the Spotify Web API in the documentation on Spotify for Developers. - Source: dev.to / over 1 year ago
Having registered your app, you now will have a client ID/Secret which you can then use to implement one of their offerings, be it WebAPI, AdsAPI. In this case, WebAPI was used. Note, registering your app puts it in a Dev mode initially - what this means is your app can only be used by yourself, the dev, and anyone you whitelist to use your application (you can whitelist up to 25 people).
