Sparkpost. Good deliverability and a robust set of analytics tools make this a solid choice. - Source: dev.to / over 1 year ago
One of our staff was following up on orders to vendors via phone, and several said they didn't get our email with the PO. Someone said that sparkpost.com, Netsuite's email sender, was blacklisted. Blacklistings are hard (for me) to track down, especially since they clear up quickly. But blacklistings can trump most client's SPF/DKIM/whitelist guards. Yes pretty much. In theory, you could use godaddy directly but sending emails through your web host is not something you want to do (They won't help much other than telling you to live with it). For better delivery of emails, you need transactional email providers. Not sure of your budget but my top choices are mandrillapp.com, sparkpost.com and sendgrid.com (in that order). SparkPost is a prominent player in the email marketing and delivery sector and continues to distinguish itself amid strong competition from companies such as Mailgun, MailChimp, and SendGrid. The general sentiment among users and industry experts reflects a blend of appreciation for its robustness and deliverability, tempered by some occasional challenges, notably related to email deliverability due to blacklistings.
SparkPost’s reputation for high reliability is underpinned by its strong Service Level Agreements (SLAs), promising and consistently supporting high email throughput levels. The explicit assurance of being able to handle bursts of up to 10,000 emails per second cements its position as a reliable solution for massive email sending needs. This technical capability, combined with its overall stability, makes SparkPost a preferred choice for businesses requiring dependable email infrastructure.
The use of advanced technology by Message Systems, SparkPost's parent company, has cultivated significant trust within the industry. Since its inception, Message Systems has been well-regarded for outperforming both cloud-based and on-premises alternatives, providing a blend of flexibility, deliverability, and necessary control for volume email services. This technological foundation empowers businesses to drive engagement effectively, contributing to the delivery of about 25% of the world’s legitimate email volume.
Beyond its performance credentials, SparkPost is also recognized for a robust set of analytics tools. These tools cater to the needs of developers and businesses alike, offering insightful data that enhance decision-making processes and email marketing strategies. SparkPost’s combination of good deliverability and comprehensive analytics positions it as a solid choice for those looking for not just an email service but a strategic communication partner.
Despite its strengths, SparkPost is not without its challenges. Users have occasionally reported issues with email deliverability, citing incidents of blacklisting. This is of particular concern for businesses that rely heavily on consistent communication with clients and vendors. Although such incidents seem infrequent and typically resolve quickly, they highlight the necessity of ongoing vigilance with whitelist settings and indicate an area where users may desire additional support and guidance from the service provider.
In summary, SparkPost emerges as a robust choice for businesses looking to optimize their email marketing strategies with a reliable infrastructure and insightful analytics. Its technical proficiency, reliability, and industry reputation are its strongest assets. While occasional deliverability issues due to blacklisting need addressing, these seem isolated and do not significantly detract from its overall positive public perception. As such, SparkPost continues to be a highly recommended option for businesses prioritizing scalability and performance in email communications.
