"it sounds like each movie needs to be in its own folder" - Not strictly necessary (see the Stand-Alone Movie Files section of the guidelines), but recommended. What you can't do is have multiple movies in a subdirectory. So if you give Plex the folder 'Movies', you can't have all Star Trek movies in a single 'Movies/Star Trek' folder. 5 "Is there a simple batch function or anything like that I can use in windows... Radarr and Sonarr are media downloading and scheduling tools. Source: about 2 months ago
I've been using Sonarr and Radarr for years, but Sonarr has been very intermittent for the last several months. I can't get it to run...I stop the app in Activity Monitor, try again, reboot, etc. I've deleted the app, restored from backup when it was working, reinstalled via homebrew instead of downloading the app direct from sonarr.tv, deleted logs.db and logs.db-journal, done a clean install with ALL of the... Are you planning to run a GUI Ubuntu or server? I’ve run both, and for ease of use I recommend GUI if the hardware can handle it. Bare in mind you can always change the desktop environment. From there, you probably want a VPN - I recommend Mullvad because they accept cash, have servers in hundreds of cities and allow torrenting on all servers. The Mullvad client also allows you to turn on an “internet kill switch”... Source: 3 months ago

API access allows you to hook up software to automatically search for and download content, for example Sonarr and Radarr. Sonarr, for example, allows users to pick a specific TV show and download all the episodes for it automatically, following certain rules (such as specific file size limits, automatically finding the highest quality, preferring certain words in the release title, etc). This is a very popular... Source: 4 months ago
Get a seedbox, set up sonarr [0] and radarr [1]. Use Plex, or even better, Jellyfin [2] for streaming. Takes about 1.5 hours to set up - you now have a Netflix-like UI with an easy option of requesting TV Shows and Movies from a nice UX. You can get any media in any quality you want, without ever stepping into any red light district. [0] https://sonarr.tv/. - Source: Hacker News / 4 months ago
I discovered Sonarr the other day, and that's honestly been a godsend. It's a bit of a faff to get set up properly, but once you do it totally automates everything. It monitors the shows you watch and automatically downloads episodes as they air, and it automatically renames and organises your media files so it all looks neat and works neatly with Plex. I genuinely don't have to think about downloading TV shows at... Source: 5 months ago
