I'm having trouble sending messages in Signal when I'm connected to a VPN. I've attempted to change VPN servers/countries, but the issue persists. The problem is encountered on computer as well as on phone. Source: 30 days ago
Keep your organizing efforts confidential to avoid interference or retaliation from Amazon. The company may monitor communications or attempt to disrupt unionization activities. Use secure communication channels, such as encrypted messaging apps like Signal (https://signal.org/) or private email accounts, to protect your privacy. Step 4: Identify Union Support. I'm trying to install Signal on my laptop and getting used to Linux at the same time. I can use GTKHash to generate the checksums, but I cannot find the keys I am suppose to compare these to. I tried looking on signal.org, but cannot find them. I may not be looking hard enough, or maybe I'm looking in the wrong place. I took a look at their GitHub site as well, but did not see anything obvious. Can someone... Source: 3 months ago

Ask your friend/s to visit https://:PORTNUMBER . They will get a certificate warning. Ask them to ignore it and "connect anyway", Tell them not to worry about the warning because, if you have the latest openssl, nodejs and http-server installed, your connection will be encrypted using TLS v1.3 AES256GCM which is as safe as modern encryption in 2023 will allow. They will be prompted for a username and password... Source: 3 months ago
The first I would recommend is Signal, it is privacy friendly, has dark interface, it's simple and easy to use, but requires SMS verification. Source: 5 months ago
- For communications... Hands down, use Signal messenger for all important communications between friends and family. It's FOSS, has the same functions as Whatsapp, is E2EE and privacy focused, and you can send pretty much any file type to any other person using Signal. This also replaces SMS/MMS on Android. Signal is discontinuing support of SMS/MMS due to telecom companies finally upgrading to RCS standard... Source: 5 months ago

I run a (legit) call center and I've had it with 10DLC. I'm going to start moving most of my higher volume SMS clients over to Signal just as soon as I have the integration finished. I'm DONE with getting called at 2 in the morning because a water company technician isn't getting SMS notifications because X carrier decided they didn't like the messages I'm sending for some arbitrary reason, despite registering my... For years now Dennis Ameling has been producing Windows on ARM (WOA) builds for Signal. Do we know why Signal doesn't do this work for him? If one motivated developer can pull this off, it seems like the Signal team should be able to as well. It'd be nice to download an ARM build from the signal.org site directly. Source: 6 months ago

It's FOSS, has the same functions as Whatsapp, is E2EE and privacy focused, and you can send pretty much any file type to any other person using Signal. This also replaces SMS/MMS on Android. If you still use email, ProtonMail is a very good (and secure) email provider. Source: 7 months ago

Now would be a good time to investigate a switch to Element and/or Signal. They can do it all like WhatsApp, except they honour your privacy. Source: 8 months ago
I suspect a lot of people are just as fed up. But probably Reddit isn't a great place to actually start organizing something like this, and you're better off finding local comrades that you can use more secure channels of communication with. Channels such as: face-to-face without electronics, face-to-face generally, Signal (and/or other secure/encrypted FOSS apps) for the more secure end of electronic... Source: 8 months ago
