  Get Rock'D. It's a very good and free NSF-funded App for Android or IOS. I assume you have a good GPS on your phone...mine is much better than any of my handhelds, and I do GPS/GNSS for my research. Source: 11 months ago

  Well, you aren't doing to find dino bones but you may find quartz replacing carbonate fossils. It looks like you have quite a bit of chert there.
