I couldn't find a link to to the audio. I never listen (watch?) video podcasting; I listen to everything on Overcast at 1.5-2X speed. Incidentally, Audio Hijack is a great app for ripping audio from YouTube or anything else. - Source: Reddit / 22 days ago

I listened to an interesting interview[1] this week with Blender’s creator (and current foundation chairman) Ton Roosendaal. He thought that one of Blender’s major challenges was recent developments in the real-time rendering space - notably Unreal Engine. They’re not competitors, of course (and Epic has donated to the foundation) but it does speak to how impressive UE’s render pipeline is. Again, it’s not a... - Source: Hacker News / 4 months ago
Apple has their podcast app but I way prefer to use Overcast for a whole set of features and niceties that Apple is probably not very interested in supporting. - Source: Reddit / 5 months ago
The Death a sentence podcast did a terrific four part dive into the series recently. https://overcast.fm/+w14JdCU34. - Source: Hacker News / 5 months ago
Every podcast that I listened to that went exclusively to Spotify I stopped listening to. Even some of my favorite ones. Some of them really hurt to leave behind but I don’t want any single entity controlling how podcasts work. Imagine if years ago Google was able to make specific websites like Netflix (or Reddit itself) ‘exclusive’ to chrome, and they sold memberships spouting the benefits of fewer ads on the... - Source: Reddit / 5 months ago
I was listening to a podcast from 2019 on the early days of the iPhone development https://overcast.fm/+BlzEp7Ihw. It was with Ken Kocienda. The interview is long 1.5 hours but toward the end he actually addresses cut and paste issue on iPhone. I found it interesting. - Source: Hacker News / 5 months ago

iOS Overcast's 'Smart playlist' can let you add specific shows to specific lists. don't know about a random order though, otherwise think you can sort from new to old etc. - Source: Reddit / 6 months ago
I recommend Oliver Burkeman's 4000 weeks or Cosmic Insignificance Therapy as an answer: https://overcast.fm/+Kebt26Yx8 TL;DR Our relationship with productivity is unhealthy and we are doing it to ourselves by trying to over-optimise (min-max) everything. Yet, when we realise that we are all mortals, nothing that we do really matters in the end.... Which can be both scary, but also liberating. There is also an... - Source: Hacker News / 6 months ago
Here’s one I just listened to that you might like. Couple of retired dudes did their own data analysis and blew the whistle on waste dumping in UK rivers: https://overcast.fm/+G2W0NiFFQ. - Source: Hacker News / 6 months ago
Forecast - This is for adding metadata to your mp3 files before upload. Think this isn't really necessary anymore (though I stand to be corrected). It's a free downloadable app by overcast.fm and I'm not sure if it's still being actively developed. I like it, though 😁. Cool feature is that if you add chapters using logic markers, it will import them into forecast and embed them into the mp3 somehow. - Source: Reddit / 7 months ago
Https://overcast.fm/+BlzHoDbOw The point being TiKTok does a ton of labelling of videos that allows the algorithm to “see” the content - or at least qualifies lots of elements of each video. And then optimises for joy and happiness responses from users. Other useful observations in the podcast. - Source: Hacker News / 7 months ago

I totally empathize with this. I am no expert meditator- I've been practicing for 5yrs and have only gotten glimpses of that stillness, "mind like water" phenomenon people talk about. But from my experience this is what it's all about: it's developing the muscle memory necessary to observe and release one's thoughts with the goal of peace. It's recognizing that those thoughts are like little fish swimming through... - Source: Hacker News / 9 months ago

SCOTUS is tasked with determining if a right is constitutionally protected. There is no right to abortion in the constitution, Roe argued a path to one but it was fairly weak (https://overcast.fm/+vpWZx2bsc). It was overturned because it's not the court's job to legislate policy beyond that. Part of the reason for that is it creates policy which cannot be reverted by democratic means (except by the kind of... - Source: Hacker News / 9 months ago
