The Overseer part In truth, I'm less familiar with and it's full feature set, But at a quick glance it looks like it would be similar to ombi (https://ombi.io/). I know for a fact that you can set up OMBI to let users just type in stuff and it will grab it for them. I didn't like that and opted to manually approve requests. Source: 10 months ago
Now add Ombi so that shared plex users have the ability to request content by themselves. Source: 12 months ago
Now pipe that all through ombi and you will live like a king! Also, don't forget to add your watchlist from plex to radarr and sonarr. Source: about 1 year ago
If what you're looking for is a request handled from the user's you give access to. Then you should check out Ombi. Ombi. Source: about 1 year ago
I use Jellyfin to host my media and Ombi for users to request media. Ombi sends user requests to Radarr for movies, and Sonarr for TV shows. Source: about 1 year ago
I use Ombi to see what's trending and request movies/shows to my *are services. Source: about 1 year ago
Reading the instructions myself it does appear that way. I think Ombi would be an Overseerr alternative that does allow for a native install on Windows, although I don't have any experience with it myself. Source: over 1 year ago
Sonarr and radarr do not offer that, but Ombi provides the features you're asking about. It even hooks up to your plex user DB so users don't need another account. Https://ombi.io/. Source: over 1 year ago
I use Ombi as part of my stack but it doesn't look like it checks for torrents as a filtering mechanism. I would think that would take a lot of processing power when requesting it will tell Sonarr/Radarr to download it when a torrent becomes available. Source: over 1 year ago
However I think it will be useful for my family whom I share my Jellyfin media server with. I'm now setting up Jellyseerr and Ombi to work alongside the rest of the -arr apps. Those are "request apps", basically a nice frontend to send media requests to Sonarr and Radarr (as well as Lidarr in the case of Ombi). That's yet another layer of complexity though in the whole stack. Source: over 1 year ago
Didn't recognize either of these apps exist until today. What do people prefer to use and why? https://ombi.io/ https://overseerr.dev/. Source: over 1 year ago
Ombi - https://ombi.io You can allow requests to be automatically filled, or require approval. - Source: Hacker News / almost 2 years ago
I tried the OMBI demo (https://ombi.io/) but it doesn't have the category/genre filters like Overseerr. Source: almost 2 years ago
It's actually not that complicated. You can set it up as a docker and it'd be really easy. Also you can couple it up with sth like jellyseerr or ombi. They are request apps so it can be completely automated and can be used by other clients, it will communicate with sonarr or radarr when you request for a movie/tv and automatically download without you having to intervene. Source: about 2 years ago
Ombi - It is for requesting content. It takes the request and redirects that to Sonarr/Radarr. Source: about 2 years ago
I've got mine automated with https://ombi.io/ Its brilliant my users don't need to ask me I just check ombi every so often and fulfill the request that then gose to sonarr or radarr. Source: about 2 years ago
This setting is for Ombi which is a request management tool. Source: about 2 years ago
The only difference I made is that I got Ombi as the front head to allow people to view a "nicer" UI look to go through looking for whatever they want and that connects to Sonarr and Radarr to communicate getting the media. Source: about 2 years ago
If you are up for selfhosted way, you might want to check Ombi (https://ombi.io/). In plex+sonarr+radarr stack it allows to request movies and shows. Source: over 2 years ago
Https://ombi.io/ Basically a way to let your users request things they want, and then I believe automatically find it for you and downloads it. Don't use it myself but have checked out out before. Source: over 2 years ago
You can automate the requests by using something like Ombi. It also supports user accounts. Source: over 2 years ago
