  • Mox – modern, secure, all-in-one email server
    - You have to search for old emails through RoundCube's byzantine UI (and eventually giving up) [1] https://mailinabox.email/. - Source: Hacker News / 3 months ago
  • Purelymail: Cheap Email for Everyone
I looked into Purelymail when searching around for good email solution. Google Workspace was getting a bit costly and there were too many things I did not need. Zoho Mail provides another option - $1.95 per month I think for my use where I am (AU) and has all the features I need for my small indie business. One other option I tried was to actually run mail myself with Linode VPS - https://mailinabox.email/ I know... - Source: Hacker News / 4 months ago
  • Purelymail: Cheap Email for Everyone
I installed Mailinabox [1] four years ago. There was one annoying upgrade, whose process needs to improved, but outside of that haven't touched anything. Only a couple of random domains where email delivery has failed. Otherwise, it just works for all the big providers. [1] https://mailinabox.email/. - Source: Hacker News / 4 months ago
  • Purelymail: Cheap Email for Everyone
Very honest Landing Page. If anyone is interested in self hosting their own emails, I have found mailinabox to be a useful start: https://mailinabox.email/. - Source: Hacker News / 4 months ago
  • Tmpmail: Temporary email right from your terminal written in POSIX sh
Sorry for the late reply. I've heard good things about Mail-in-a-Box[0], but haven't used it myself (although I have/do use(d) a bunch of the servers/tools amalgamated into the product). The setup guide[1][2] also gives a good overview of implementation requirements. Have fun! [0] https://mailinabox.email/ [1] https://mailinabox.email/guide.html [2] Annoyingly, the setup guide wants to you 'curl setup.sh | bash'.... - Source: Hacker News / 10 months ago
  • Running One-man SaaS for 9 Years
With things like https://mailinabox.email/ it is actually simple. - Source: Hacker News / 10 months ago
  • Ask HN: Do you run your own DNS servers?
Mail-In-a-Box (MIAB)[1] comes with a built in nameserver. I think you may use it as a standalone DNS even for the domain names whose email is not managed by MIAB. Not sure about any benefit of doing it this way though. [1] https://mailinabox.email. - Source: Hacker News / about 1 year ago
  • Ask HN: Self Hosting an Email Server?
I've been using https://mailinabox.email on a small VPS where I host a few other websites and projects. I'd recommend it for the management aspect: It has backup scripts and a UI for let's encrypt and dns entries. - Source: Hacker News / over 1 year ago
  • Sandstorm, Tempest, and the Future
I don't see why we are a long way away. At the sandstorm end, we need to get to the point, where all updates (of both sandstorm and the apps) on the user machine are automatic. Much like they are automatic on various OSes (mobile OSes in particular but also MacOS/Windows). This is not impossible if a single OS like Debian-testing is targeted. Mailinabox [1] almost does it. They target Ubuntu stable, and upgrades... - Source: Hacker News / over 1 year ago
  • [advice needed] - Selfhosted Mail Server
If you have a better solution, for example a good provider who offer agency packages which allows many domains and there is no catch, for example very small disk space, then hit me right away. Otherwise, please share your experience with hosting your own mail service. I found https://mailinabox.email/ and https://www.iredmail.org/ for example, but never had any experience with neither of them. Source: almost 2 years ago

  • Cheapest way to use your own domain for your email?
Mailinabox https://mailinabox.email/. All you need is a VPS with a clean IP, took me 3 tries to get one that wasn't blacklisted on any list per mxtoolbox.com. I've been using it for 4 years now and have only had an issue receiving an email once. Source: about 2 years ago
  • What happens if SimpleLogin shuts down
Or host your email server. There is even services like r/VirtualMin & r/Webmin plus others like Mail-in-a-Box or iRedMail. Source: about 2 years ago
  • VPS Personalized Email
Very lightweighy email server that I use and recommend is https://mailinabox.email/ However, after installing it you cannot do any other modifications to the same server because it already configures a customised nginx server and other things, after each update it's not guaranteed that your changes will save. You can try deploying in inside docker environment though, or use other alternatives like mailcow, iredmail. Source: about 2 years ago
  • Need advice fixing my embarrassing email configuration.
I've self-hosted my email for the last ~6 years, at first using mail-in-a-box; but more recently moving to a containerized poste.io instance. I don't have any issues with delivery; but it's likely due to how long I've been in existence. Source: about 2 years ago
  • Can you suggest me a good email hosting?
You don't need any directadmins and stuff. Get a VPS server and install something like https://mailinabox.email. It's a one command install, and you get webmail, nice UI to create and manage users, DNS server capabilities, nextcloud contacts and calendar. Source: about 2 years ago

Mail-in-Box: https://mailinabox.email/ good for personal use or samll team or company (does not support quote or sending limits. Source: about 2 years ago
