I tried downloading an unlocker program to see if maybe any processes were stalling it, but not even that could remove the file. I'm completely at a loss. I could just ignore the file for the rest of my life, but I'd really rather not with how concerningly broken it is. Source: 5 days ago

If you still see an error related to a product key, then the Loader temporarily failed to patch haloce.exe. This is typically happens when another process has temporarily locked the file. The only reasons it wouldn't work after the Loader successfully found your Retail (CD) or Custom Edition license in the Windows Registry is because the no-DRM patch failed to apply to SPV3's haloce.exe.
