• Livestream (Vimeo) is being sunset? (Also, cannot get the livestream video player to serve anything but the highest quality video on small screens, unless bandwidth is a limitation)

  Our Livestream account ran over on bandwidth and while I was looking into ways to reduce usage, I tested downloading videos at different screen widths and noticed that when watching on livestream.com, the highest quality stream is always used, regardless of the window size.   Just use ublock origin to block out ads/popups from cricinfo. additionally, block livestream.com if you don't like their commentary video (that auto-plays EVEN WHEN YOU HAVE DISABLED AUTO-PLAY in firefox!). Source: about 2 years ago

• Twitch is suffering an exodus of executives, with new big-tech employees "unwilling to learn what this community was, why it was special."

  Twitch was a safe haven in the live stream industry for gamers to get away from all of that. Justin tv and livestream.com was just people streaming what ever. So twitch broke off of that, became it's own domain 'naamed after the 'twitch style of gameplay', and after being 'for gamers by gamers' for about 5 years, it all followed all over again.
