  • Why
Monkeytype is the most visited and has the most traffic typing website (with over 130+ thousand unique users daily) compared to 10fastfingers.com, typeracer.com, typrx.com, nitrotype.com, keybr.com, keyhero.com, etc...., and that's according to https://www.siteworthtraffic.com/report/monkeytype.com. Personally, Monkeytype is really addicting because of its user-friendly layouts (you can choose your own theme and... - Source: Reddit / 5 days ago
  • Any common mistakes to avoid when switching to Colemak?
I spend most of my time on Monkeytype, with short forays into websites like Keybr.com and Colemak Academy. I practice all my mistyped words after each test. I use English 1k, and I try to go for accuracy as far as possible (I'm nowhere near as consistent with my accuracy as I'd like though). - Source: Reddit / 20 days ago
  • Quicker non touch typing - should I learn?
You could do something like ratatype.com until you know which fingers are supposed to press which keys, and then you could move to keybr.com and stick with that until you have unlocked all 26 letters of the alphabet and then you could resume using monkeytype.com or wherever you currently practice. - Source: Reddit / 23 days ago

Got mine a few weeks ago. It's awesome. typingclub.com's Typing Jungle lessons are great. I got the letters down pretty good, but I still need to get proficient with the special symbols. You can use keybr.com and use your own text to practice as well, which I'm using these days to practice all the special symbols. - Source: Reddit / 24 days ago

One thing that helped me transition to a split board was a site like keybr.com or Monkeytype.com where I could practice touch typing. I got a Moonlander last year and during the first week I went from being a competent typist, to utter shit. I hadn't realized what a crappy touch typist I'd turned into over the years. Sort of the same situation. Writer here, and I spend about 10 hours a day at my desk. - Source: Reddit / 24 days ago
  • how to stop index typing
From there you can either stay on ratatype or you can move over to keybr.com where you then use the fingering that you learned on ratatype to work through the various lessons until you have unlocked all 26 letters of the alphabet,. - Source: Reddit / 28 days ago
  • day 4 of trying for 100wpm (60sec) [pr-94wpm]. i matched my pr today! someone in the last post suggested i should work on my accuracy and i did just that, to which i saw an instant improvement.
Keep it up! Use keybr.com as it helps with the keys you are less proficient at, by making them appear more often. - Source: Reddit / 29 days ago
  • Finally! 100WPM Goal reached!
I finally breached the 100WPM barrier, and got a new PB! All credit to monkeytype.com keybr.com and 10fastfingers.com as well as typingtournament.com for helping me get started! - Source: Reddit / 28 days ago
  • Thoughts on practicing typing gibberish
Well, the way keybr.com works, is it gets the keys you have trouble with, and then makes them appear more often. It is certainly going to be more effective tho. I would do both however, as the WPM Keybr states start to depress you if you use it long enough lol!!!!!! :). - Source: Reddit / about 1 month ago
  • NEW PB!!!!!
NEW PB!!!! 95WPM 97% Accuracy! All credit to keybr.com and 10fastfingers.com for helping me fine tune my speed and accuracy, as well as https://www.typingtournament.com/ for helping me get started ! Went from 87-89 WPM to 90-95 in 16 mins!!! Next goal? 100WPM. Update coming then. - Source: Reddit / 29 days ago
  • hard to type because of small hands
Other than that, I'd suggest you start out by using a site like keybr.com to train proper touch typing technique for a couple of weeks / months and see where that takes you. Depending on your preference, learn an optimized layout or stick to QWERTY. If you end up still thinking the problem is hardware-related rather than due to a lack of proper technique / training, plenty of good advice has already been offered... - Source: Reddit / about 1 month ago
  • How much important is fast typing in terms of coding?
Keybr.com in the beginning for learning and then monkeytype.com for practice. - Source: Reddit / about 1 month ago
  • [Achievement] Results after a month of learning touchtyping and some questions
It took me about 8 hours (1 week) to complete the whole keyboard on keybr.com. Back then my typing was around 40 wpm. After completing the keyboard, I started practicing on monkeytype english 1k (was the most recommended) and my typing speed was ~30. Fast forward three weeks practising on monkeytype (total typing time is 11 hours 30 minutes) and my WPM is around 55-60 , with 60 being my average in the last 10... - Source: Reddit / about 1 month ago
  • LPT: You really should pay attention typing class in school.
Try keybr.com. It starts with very few letters, and adds new ones progressively, so you only have to mind about a new letter at the time and can properly focus on using the right finger. That's how I learned to touch type (albeit I'm not a pro at it) and I've never done any typing class. - Source: Reddit / about 2 months ago
  • Russian keyboard layout
If you want some training tools, google "keyboard trainer". There are some (like keybr.com) that support the Russian layout. - Source: Reddit / about 2 months ago
  • Recommendations for a Complete Beginner
I have a board with blank keycaps, so learning touch typing was painful, but eventually I got there. It isn't a layout that's available in the main typing practice sites, so that can be weird. I used keybr.com with my layout on paper taped to the wall. - Source: Reddit / about 2 months ago
  • Advice needed to get back to typing.
I have taught myself to touch type thanks to keybr.com and typing.com. It been a few months since I haven't practiced typing on any websites like monkeytype, nitrotype or typeracer. - Source: Reddit / about 2 months ago
  • I can type with 2 fingers at 125wpm
If you do decide to learn I would recommend watching some youtube videos (note that when it comes to ZXC some people prefer hitting C with index, X with middle and Z with ring, whereas the recommended method is C with middle, X with ring and Z with pinky. Go with whichever you find more comfortable) and then go through all the letters on keybr.com to get comfortable with it. - Source: Reddit / about 2 months ago
  • At what age did you learn to touch-type, and how?
Spend a couple hours over the coming weeks on keebr.com and you should see significant improvements. - Source: Reddit / about 2 months ago
  • Good solution for NGO
Keybr.com is similar to typing.com, it's just as good if not better and it's what I use. It doesn't give the finger positions by itself though so you'll have to explain what fingers the students need to use to hit what keys, but there are a few videos online that can do that. typing.com spends a bit too much time on just J and F, and its lessons aren't a variable length from what I can tell. On keybr.com the... - Source: Reddit / 2 months ago
