  • I'm trying to make the most of this apartment in Paris, what would you change?
Yes, 3D is very useful. We used HomeByMe for this but shared the 2D floorplan which seems better suited for a discussion here. - Source: Reddit / about 1 month ago

  • Is it normal for excitement to wane?
Hahah amazing. Yes it’s free! There are paid bits to it but I’ve never used them. You get 3 free projects (I’ve got my old house, current house and dream house) and I think 10 free photo realistic renders. Need to do it on a laptop/desktop/ decent tablet through. Doesn’t work on mobile. HomeByMe. - Source: Reddit / 9 months ago
  • what software are y'all using to mock floorplan ? free software
I've used home.by.me before - you can only do three free but easy enough to start over. - Source: Reddit / 10 months ago
  • Please recommend a simple design app for laying out a kitchen.
I've been using the https://home.by.me/en/ software to model our new build. I really like it by the hubbs doesn't always enjoy moving around my model. It's online and has an app but it seems to me the app is only "useful" for looking at a model you have already built with the browser on their website. Tablets and phones have a really hard time loading the model and it seems impossible for them to make changes. - Source: Reddit / 11 months ago
  • I found a great FREE cabin layout software
I was looking for a FREE software that I could use to play around with the design of an off grid cabin I'm planning. I wasn't expecting that much, but I was seriously blown away by what Home By Me offers in their online design / viewer. https://home.by.me/en/. - Source: Reddit / 12 months ago

  • [HELP] Need help to start FloorPlanner application.
Hello fellow devs! I have a simple but heavy (for me) question. I need to develop a Floor Planner application in Unity. (example: https://home.by.me/en/ ) How can I start it? Im at junior experienced developer, I worked in several games but its too hard for me to start. How can I create a grid in runtime? I tried with Line Renderer but is was performance heavy, how can I snap object to a custom coordinate system? - Source: Reddit / over 1 year ago
  • Plan2Scene: Converting Floorplans to 3D Scenes
This would be an excellent addition to services like homebyme https://home.by.me/en/ They have a feature where you can put a floor plan and then retrace it yourself manually with walls, doors, windows etc. It's quite a pain to do, having this automated would be a boon. - Source: Hacker News / almost 2 years ago
  • Opinion & Game Application/ Online Map Maker- Cargo Container Living: what to expect and what you have to work with
Like it says in the book newly moved into basic container home will have very little in it beyond a kitchen counter and sink, a small fridge, a microwave, a cheap desk and maybe a desk chair included. In my opinion it may also include some things left behind by previous renters or some basic things purchased by the players at the start of a game (or before backstory wise); like cheap rugs, curtains to make a... - Source: Reddit / almost 2 years ago

  • Minimalism in architecture and interior design is just code for blandness.
I live now exactly in the same flat. Feeling like an art gallery, but the thing is that all the arts need to be in the same style, gamma, etc... It is hard for just an amateur. And there are no tools that can help you to visualize your future interior. When for minimalists exists f*** tons of them, like https://planner5d.com/ or https://home.by.me/en/. - Source: Reddit / almost 2 years ago
  • Please suggest a completely online web interface (no download CAD) for free or small amount of money
I'm pretty experienced in Onshape, but this Summer I found https://home.by.me/en/ , for designing houses. It can only be used for fairly standard home designs, but I found it was just easier to make house designs in than onshape. - Source: Reddit / about 2 years ago
