Use a Google voice number for online applications? https://voice.google.com/about. Source: almost 2 years ago
This is a good reason to get a Google Voice number for any non-personal contacts. Assuming it's an option where you're located, of course. Not only does it provide call-flow options your standard cell number may lack, it also has the added benefit of being transient so you're free to ditch the number at any point and change to a new one. Sure! Unless you already have a Google phone (in which case, you're stuck with that number), you can create one via your Google account at https://voice.google.com/about and download the app to your phone. I actually made mine for an unrelated reason, but I kept it for dating apps because it's not listed on any websites with my face next to it or anything like that. Source: over 2 years ago
You can use Google Voice or textnow . I haven't used either of them yet but I'm sure I will for call forwarding so I'm reachable even when not on WiFi. Source: over 2 years ago

Get a google number: Google Voice is the only Google product I recommend. Try and phase out your google usage where you can. This is the number you should use and memorize when you need to give your number out. Give this number to men you meet OLD, random creeps, promotions for 20% on swimsuits, etc. You can download the voice app onto your phone and call and text as normal. Source: over 2 years ago
If all else fails perhaps you can get a US number through Google Voice. Source: almost 3 years ago
