For 3D games, check out the engine: Stride Engine or Flax Engine. Source: 7 months ago
Flax Engine: C# and C++, Global Illumination system, Visual scripting, Full Source Code Available, 4% royalties after $250,000 (threshold is per quarter, not all time). The engine honestly looks really good, so it could be worth taking a closer look, but does lack tutorials. Source: 8 months ago
It sounds like you're asking them to just remake https://flaxengine.com. (Minus ECS). Source: almost 2 years ago
As the title says, what are people's thoughts on Flax Engine. (Link for anyone who hasn't heard of it). Source: almost 2 years ago
Flax (4% royalty after 100k revenue) looks to be the most Unity-like, and seems to be pretty polished, if also new and lacking features. That's all I know about it so far. Its pricing model is similar to Unreal's and, like Unreal, it's source-available (but not truly open-source). Source: almost 2 years ago
Don't think it's been mentioned, but Flax is incredible and has C# scripting which is very similar to Unity and very easy to apply anything from Unity to it. Source: almost 2 years ago
I'm in the same boat. Only thing I've found so far that's even remotely close is Flax Engine. Source: almost 2 years ago
I'm not advocating anyone switch to it for a serious production but I've been following Flax for a while:https://flaxengine.com/. Source: almost 2 years ago
FlaxEngine - I know I know, you mentioned 2D games, but if you ever wanna try out a 3D engine Flax is awesome. Source: almost 2 years ago
People mentioned a bunch of other engines already, but one very interesting one is Flax: https://flaxengine.com/. Source: over 2 years ago
Both bgfx and OpenFBX are successfully used in other game engines with very good results (https://flaxengine.com/ uses OpenFBX and the majority of models I tried importing there worked and for those that had issues, the author was very quick to push fixes for). Source: almost 3 years ago
