You can try Zeus. It's somewhere between airbnb and traditional apartment, but requires 30-day minimum stay and you can stay for a year+. There is a background check component, but there's no mention of a credit check. Might be worth checking out. Source: about 2 years ago

You can checkout a sofar sounds. These are small intimate concerts that happen all around the city. Three artists (genre unknown till you show up) and the venue can be anything as well. I’ve gone to some in churches, or speakeasies, or someone’s apartment. Until the day of you just know the general area e.g. Williamsburg. Source: over 1 year ago
