  • Hey all. Doing (driving) route 500 up in Scotland, late summer 2022. Just wondered if the group had any advice for wild camping this route (Not asking for locations). We’ve been warned of mosquito populations around that time but any other advice for wild camping in Scotland would be appreciated 😃

    If you're comfortable with it, you can sleep in your car almost anywhere except for central city areas. It is illegal to do in many countries, but as long as you go to sleep late and leave early, it will be absolutely fine. Just try not to get woken up by police with a fine. A hostel will cost between 10-20 euros a night. If you're fine with sleeping at strangers' places, hospitality networks are fairly big here... Source: over 2 years ago
