I learned about mobiletrans in this subreddit and used it to flawlessly transfer all of my messages. But as soon as I enable the "messages" toggle in iCloud (https://imgur.com/a/pR9PF2h), I see all of my texts from the last 4 years disappear from my phone. Source: almost 2 years ago

You can install Vysor app on the Firestick from the Appstore and download the Vysor app from https://vysor.io to install on a computer to remotely connect to a Firestick from a computer. Check YouTube for a video on how to use it. Source: over 1 year ago
For those following this thread: I've just discovered a tool called Vysor which allows you to control your fire tv from another device (like your laptop). It's not a native remote.. It feels like VNC / remote access, though I'm not sure how it's actually implemented. Either way, it works great. There's a guide on troypoint: https://troypoint.com/firestick-remote-access/.
