WireShare mentions (2)

  • Talking about feeling old, LimeWire, which I used to download Eminem in primary school is apparently back. Any know anything about it?
    There's a "fork" of Limewire called Wireshare that's been around for over a decade now. https://sourceforge.net/projects/wireshare/. Source: about 2 years ago
  • How do you find rare stuff that is hiding on the Internet?

DC++ mentions (4)

  • How we used to do it...
    Holy shit it does. I'd forgot all about it lol. Source: over 1 year ago
  • How to share an ungodly amount of books?
    I had to use a different one recently to get a hold of some live music for my dad that wasn't available literally anywhere else. It was called DC++. All of this "it's IRC + (X)DCC but different!" stuff reminds me so much of XKCD #927. Each one is sure their shit is the best, but there's 50 different options and none of them are compatible. 🙄. • Looking for a way to share movie files and not sure what to use
    Is DC++ still a thing? Used to use it all the time to swap files with buddies privately. https://dcplusplus.sourceforge.io/. Source: about 2 years ago
  • how do you discover new music these days?
    One way I've used which has led to finding some favorites has been to search for existing artists I like via a DC++ type file sharing tool. Source: over 2 years ago
