    Now, I have tried WireShark to see if my PC recieves the Magic Packet. When I sent the magic packet via my Synology NAS (with the synonet command) it didn't show up, but then I tried with another PC using WOL - Magic Packet Sender and it worked by sending it through the 255.255.255.255 local subnet. Tried the same with the computer off and no dice. This says to me that yes, it works when its turned on, but not... Source: almost 2 years ago
