Tbh, I'm surprised it took this long for the app to be taken down. It was 99% scammers. You can verify the app has been taken down by visiting their website and clicking get app. The play store doesn't take you to link to download it and if you search for "whisper," it doesn't show up at all. You do get a lot of scraper sites, but then you also get some weird ones. Someone used one of my drawings as a backdrop to a confession on whisper.sh. Pixsy found it. They also found a site that was offering free HD wallpaper downloads (no idea where they would have gotten an HD image file since I don't post those just anywhere) and they had one of my paintings on their site. I’ve kinda made it work by installing an application called MicMute that mutes the microphone with a hotkey, (something like CTRL + ALT + M) then using VIA to map that hotkey to a button on the keyboard. Source: about 1 year ago

There's a free app on SF called mutemic. You can bind a keyboard key and have push to talk for your mic. Alternatively you can toggle it on or off as well. When you have the push to talk function you can toggle between always on or off by double tapping the keybind. I think the easiest fix I found right now is to download MicMute app (https://sourceforge.net/projects/micmute/) set it up to function like push to talk.. Then switch your voice activation to open in siege and you should be good. Source: over 2 years ago
But it's kinda hard to find the switch on the cord during gameplay. And the DAC is not that close to my keyboard. I think I would find a way to get a keyboard or mouse shortcut over those methods.
