  • How to create multiple virtual cameras for an app in development?
I have tested OBS's Virtual Camera feature, but it only provides a single virtual camera from what I've tried. I also tested a piece of software called Webcamoid. It was easy to use, but I couldn't get the MediaStream object from it using Tauri on MacOS for some reason, even though it worked when I opened the test app in Chrome instead. I am not sure it would enable multiple instances either. Source: about 1 year ago
  • Webcam issues
That did not seem to do anything with Cheese, however it lead me down a rabbithole to https://webcamoid.github.io/ with links to virtual camera drivers for "akvcam" and "v4l2loopback" which solved the issue within browser. I installed both, not sure which one was needed. Source: almost 2 years ago
  • Was forced to participate in a Facebook Messenger call today.
Yes, obs-virtualcam, or this open source thing will do it https://webcamoid.github.io/. Source: about 2 years ago
  • Can someone please help me identify this coin?
I would have liked to take better quality pictures, but this was the best my webcam could muster (at least when using Webcamoid). If the images don't appear, and show the alt text I provided, it's a coin with a silver outer circle, and a gold inner-circle (where the details are present). Source: almost 3 years ago

  • I want to start a radio station what is the best way to learn how?
Rivendell - Linux based and way more powerful than RadioDJ. Only attempt if you’re really technical. I’m in the middle of building a system to see if I like it better than RadioDJ. It took me weeks to sort out audio issues (and I’m fairly technical). Source: over 1 year ago
  • ISO Automation Reviews
Due to being open-source, you *can* just obtain the Rivendell software suite from http://rivendellaudio.org/ and run it. But, unless you're a Linux pro, you will want a pre-installed system + some form of basic technical support as you learn the software. Source: almost 2 years ago
  • Music Scheduling for a couple hour blocks record to a podcast?
If you have some Linux knowledge or are willing to learn, there is nothing more powerful than http://rivendellaudio.org/ in the "free as in beer, free as in freedom" radio automation space. Source: almost 3 years ago
  • USB audio unusual use case, with bad results, wonder if anybody has any ideas.
I have radio station running Rivendell (http://rivendellaudio.org/). Per Rivendell's documentation, all the machines are running CentOS 7. Overall the system works great. Linux-powered Air studio + production studio + transmitter-site backup, all sync'd off a central audio/db server with failover. Sweet! Source: over 3 years ago
