  Well this was only done because we were promised access to games on the cloud. If they started a new line of products/hardware like the pixel watch and it fails, don't expect to get your $ back. This is a super rare case. It would be like vudu.com shutting down after you paid for 100 movies. I'd expect them to let me download my movies or transfer them to another live service.   As for music, I use a spotify premium account to do a remote listening session. It's been my best solution so far. A friend of mine uses watch2gether.com, its a great free option to integrate music and video streaming. It's not ideal for a whole host of reasons, if you ask me, but it IS free and simple.
