Maybe take a look at this Https://virtualmacosx.com Probably works as long as you don't need to use physical devices. Source: over 2 years ago
My trusty 12 year old mac died, and while I contemplate its permanant replacement, I discovered this site: https://virtualmacosx.com/ that rents a mac desktop for an hour a day for $12/mo . It's just the thing if your only mac requirement is to upload apps to the app store. Source: almost 3 years ago
You could also rent cloud Mac: https://virtualmacosx.com/. Source: almost 3 years ago
Https://guitardashboard.com/ really good way to visualize notes on the fretboard. Source: over 1 year ago
Use the circle of fifths and pick a key (doesn't really matter which) + natural minor which will give you a vocabulary of "allowed notes". Later you can venture outside the "allowed notes" but that's too much for now. Source: almost 2 years ago
If I wanted to boil this kind of thing down to the simplest 1, 2, 3 step procedure possible, in order to get straight to experimenting with sounds, what would I do? I'm finding Fretflip, Guitar Dashboard, and this Chord Identifier very useful resources to work with as cheat sheets while I take on internalizing the actual theory knowledge I'm building a little more slowly. And also there is my own website Guitar Dashboard, a music theory explorer for guitarists. I created while working through the Pedler book above, so they complement each other quite well. Source: about 4 years ago
I've created an interactive website called Guitar Dashboard that's designed to map scales, modes, chords, etc to the guitar fretboard. It's free and open-source. You might find it useful? (also does violin) :). Source: about 4 years ago
