The video revolution that started in the mid-2000s has stalled-out, with the very platform that started it alienating viewers and creators alike. Utreon is the first credible challenge to the status quo, with a focus on innovative features, community engagement, reasonable policies, and privacy.
Utreon is still in the Beta phase as of June of 2021. So comparing it to Vimeo is like comparing a pedigree puppy to a full blown show dog. Utreon's strength is in its potential.
Based on our record, Tux Paint should be more popular than Utreon. It has been mentiond 12 times since March 2021. We are tracking product recommendations and mentions on various public social media platforms and blogs. They can help you identify which product is more popular and what people think of it.
I wrote an article on Medium on Utreon, a free-speech YouTube alternative that is currently in beta, but you can send a proper email to the people in charge to set up your channel on their platform. They can even sync your YouTube channel to the platform with your videos being copied over to their platform in case anything happens on YouTube. If you want to try it out, here is the url: https://utreon.com/. Source: almost 2 years ago
I've seen some movement (e.g Forgotten Weapons) towards Utreon, which combines patreon-style subscription with video hosting. Source: about 2 years ago
Now that the dislike button has been removed, for anyone thinking now is a good time to leave YouTube, there’s a platform called Ultreon with a user interface very similar to YouTube’s, especially from 2014-2016ish, with almost none of the restrictions. No ad support at this time but they are working on acquiring that and only need more users on their website Https://utreon.com. Source: over 2 years ago
I think I found today what I am looking for. https://utreon.com/ looks to be a close contender to what I seek. - Source: Hacker News / over 2 years ago
Utreon.com could be an option. One thing is, my ad blockers run so deep that if they are throwing ads willy-nilly onto videos I would likely not be able to tell, same as youtube. Source: almost 3 years ago
PBS Kids has a lot of games and activities on their website: https://pbskids.org/games If your kids watch any PBS shows them they'll recognize the characters. The activities were fun enough for our twins to learn how to use computer mice at age 3. Tux Paint is also really fun for young kids and a good way to learn mouse usage: https://tuxpaint.org/. - Source: Hacker News / about 2 months ago

I can also recommend https://tuxpaint.org/. I see they also have an app for Android nowadays, but no iOS it seems. - Source: Hacker News / 12 months ago
This is going to depend on the age of the kid. I have given a cheap Laptop to my 6-year old and introduced her to Scratch[1] and Tuxpaint[2]. I let her use the mouse and keyboard more instead of tapping on a screen. The school is likely to introduce Scratch from next year. For older kids, they should be on a normal computer. My old MacBook Pro came handy for the elder one. She does the usual Python, games and... - Source: Hacker News / over 1 year ago
