I've used ESET NOD32 antivirus for a few years and am very happy with it. It does its job with "dignity" (no Norton-style hyperbolic popups), consumes little resources, and is inexpensive. It does a great job blocking malware and has a nice blocker for "potentially unwanted applications" (https://help.eset.com/glossary/en-US/unwanted_application.html). I'd also like to throw in Windows Ameliorated as an option to a less bloated, more privacy friendly version of Windows. Been using it myself for the last couple of years and haven't run into many issues. Only real issue I had is that I had to manually install .NET Framework from the windows iso for gaming, but a quick search solved that. Source: 10 months ago
