• Bought my first laptop for my education after years of being homeless, hope I invested my money right.

  CS is computer science. Also check out edx.com It is hosted by Harvard and if you pay for the course which is very little you get a certificate from them. There is also groupings of courses were you can get a business certificate. Also check out udemy.com. Wait for the specials for $10-15. I have heard that google has certificates that are free but that businesses except. Just try stuff and even look at skills... Source: 11 months ago

• Rant - Anyone else having trouble finding a job?

  Core coding and IT skills are a must though. Pick a language you followed and liked at Uni, check there is decent job demand for it, and do a udemy.com course on it (great value, great content, very cheap). Pair this with a major cloud (Azure or AWS) qualification which is pretty much a must these days, and you're much more attractive as an applicant. Source: 11 months ago

  Prompting is so new I don't think a degree is offered yet, but Microsoft has some accredited classes (FREE) - https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/training/ and you can get a certificate on AI and chatGPT from https://udemy.com , I got a few from them :). Source: 11 months ago

  I am studying Salesforce administrator fundamentals at udemy.com. I am taking this course where the instructor provides a checklist of all the topics/subjects you will see in the test. For example, according to the instructor, who passed his administrator certification on his first try, teach the specific concepts you will see in the test. • Cheap/free language lessons

  If you're prepared to do self-study, take a look at the udemy.com learning site. I paid somewhere in the region of £15 (they retail for around £60-70 in general but always come on sale at some point) for a number of courses (incl. languages).   I don't understand how you can stop spam yet not have the structures in place to censor forbidden views or opinions. Without admin moderation you get 50 million flavours of porn (like old Usenet servers) some of which will be illegal porn, a massive slice of QAnon and conspiracy (like Odyssee and gab.ai), information and propaganda useful to terrorists (like the old totse.com) and dark web drug markets.   This already exists in the "Dissenter browser" made by the folks over at gab.ai. This could work as a third party extension, but direct support from Brave would instantly draw controversy as it's perceived that the only reason Dissenter exists is to support toxic radical right wingers.   I feel that there is still space for a platform for content creators which is away from any restrictions. I was talking to a lawyer friend of mine about drafting a user agreement which makes it impossible for anyone to sue any content creator or the platform, or for any government or group to force removal of content. but in the end we figured that we would need a back to back agreement with our service...
