You can also send your own text to practice.
The site also uses colors in the results to show you how fast you typed and there is also a section full of tips to help you improve your typing speed.

I used to go to a specific website to practice typing. One day, as usual, I opened the same website to practice my typing speed, but it was full of ads. Some ads had animations and were displayed during typing practices. All of that was really distracting. So I decided to search for other typing sites.
I went to many websites and many of them didn't provide a natural typing experience. For example, if you made a mistake, you couldn't keep typing if the mistake wasn't fixed. In other cases you could not correct previous words, or it was difficult to keep track of the next character to be typed.
Later I found some good typing websites. But none of them had the simplicity I wanted and the information I needed in the typing test results. It was then that I decided to create a website to provide people with the experience I could not find when I was looking for typing sites.
That's how the Typing Core project came about, with a simple interface, without ads during the typing tests and with complete information in the typing test results.
Based on our record, 10FastFingers.com seems to be more popular. It has been mentiond 76 times since March 2021. 10 fast fingers still colors the word red if you made any mistake in that word but it wont show you what or where the mistakes are, or at least not easily without losing precious seconds... If you were learning it before May 2020 when Monkeytype first came into existence, then the default test on 10fastfingers.com which uses a selection of 302 words contains all of the 100 most common words in the English language. 10Fastfingers has been around since October 2007. What I did was look up the touch typing hand layout (googling it is pretty easy), then just force myself to use it. I started off going from 37wpm to 7wpm, but through a lot of use (especially doing daily type tests on websites like https://play.typeracer.com/ or https://10fastfingers.com/ ) I'm now at ~65wpm without looking after a couple months.
