The site also uses colors in the results to show you how fast you typed and there is also a section full of tips to help you improve your typing speed.

I used to go to a specific website to practice typing. One day, as usual, I opened the same website to practice my typing speed, but it was full of ads. Some ads had animations and were displayed during typing practices. All of that was really distracting. So I decided to search for other typing sites.
I went to many websites and many of them didn't provide a natural typing experience. For example, if you made a mistake, you couldn't keep typing if the mistake wasn't fixed. In other cases you could not correct previous words, or it was difficult to keep track of the next character to be typed.
Later I found some good typing websites. But none of them had the simplicity I wanted and the information I needed in the typing test results. It was then that I decided to create a website to provide people with the experience I could not find when I was looking for typing sites.
That's how the Typing Core project came about, with a simple interface, without ads during the typing tests and with complete information in the typing test results.
Based on our record, Type Fu seems to be more popular. It has been mentiond 8 times since March 2021. We are tracking product recommendations and mentions on various public social media platforms and blogs. They can help you identify which product is more popular and what people think of it.

What really forced me to learn is when I got a keyboard with blank keycaps. But short of that, I found it pretty effective to do some typing practice where the text is computer code. See e.g. Type-Fu and in the "Lesson" drop down select "Code.". Source: almost 3 years ago
So it's helpful to do some targeted touch typing exercises for symbols. I've found it useful, though boring, to exercise on text that is purely a random sequence of symbols. This at least forced me to remember which symbols are at which key positions. Alternatively you could practice on a sample of code. I used Type-fu when I finally decided to learn how to touch type properly. It worked just fine, it only took a few hours to learn how to place my hands correctly and finding the correct keys with my fingers. Source: over 3 years ago
