Hey about the tv shows, I've been using tvtime.com for years and it's great. You can even add favorite shows so that's what I look at if people ask me for recommendations. Now, the best thing I found that fits those is EMDB. The whole db is kept in one folder and the interface is made for a desktop. The problem is the bugs or "inconveniences" that are introduced with new versions. Aside from a big issue in detecting files that has been there forever.
