Top 10 3D Model Databases: The Best Sites to Download 3D Models for 3D Printing
TurboSquid is the place to be for downloading the most stunning 3D designs. It doesn’t get any more high-end and professional than this. The problems: the designs are great visually but are not optimized for 3D printing. There is also no filtering option for finding 3D printable models. Furthermore, all models on TurboSquid are premium (payable) files. Quality comes at a price.

  • How would you do something like this in Maya?
There is actually a large collection of weird anime porn characters on turbosquid.com you can just go there. Source: about 1 year ago
  • New Youtube Channel w/ 5 Minute Spline Tricks, Tips, and Guides
The most recent lesson on interactive animation has some fun nuggets to experiment with, videos 10&11. Theres a link to the free turbosquid.com obj file used in the video in the description so you can try it yourself. Also I offer the exact spline file I created on gumroad. Instant download for $4, so you can pick apart everything I did and mess around with all my settings. Source: about 1 year ago
  • Game dev asset sites recommendations?
I've found opengameart.org and turbosquid.com (for 3D models to be rendered as 2D isometric images) to be particularly helpful. Source: about 1 year ago
  • What sort of tax does a 3D modeler have to pay? What is the process of filing them? What else should I know?
So turbosquid.com is a popular platform where many artists sell their 3D models, which is a digital good just like apps. For each 3D model sold, the artist is paid royalties through either PayPal or Payoneer (note that the payment is sent in USD; it is only converted into INR once it reaches one's PayPal account). What is this sort of income classified as? Does it come under section 44AD or 44AE? Do I have to... Source: over 1 year ago

Youmagine mentions (3)

  • thingiverse is the worst, buggiest ("mayor") website I've used. What are the best other option?
I just started using youmagine.com, which is free, but doesn't seem to get much foot traffic. Source: over 2 years ago
  • Where should I upload my 3D models?
+1 for prusaprinters.org, particularly for 3d printable models. I tried putting models on youmagine.com as an alternative to thingiverse and had a fair number of downloads but no other engagement (up votes/comments) so I eventually deleted my account there. Source: over 2 years ago
  • Vector/File Sharing site
I also recommend searching youmagine.com and thingiverse.com for the term laser. Source: about 3 years ago
