  • BANKING AS A SERVICE? ANOTHER WAY BUSINESSES MAKE MONEY
Sounds like Open Banking which is government driven & regulated, depending on where you are. There are a couple of startups that act as an abstraction layer to try to make the experience "frictionless", like TrueLayer. Source: over 1 year ago
  • I'm an experienced programmer trying to build my first website for my clothing brand using JavaScript, HTML and CSS, but I have a few serious questions regarding the problems I might encounter while creating such a website
You won't avoid interfacing with an API. Even if you don't want to use Stripe/PayPal, you'll need to wrestle with a banks own API or some kind of broker. TrueLayer is a popular way in Europe to access banks that support the Open Banking API. It is through a banking API that you will get confirmation that a payment has been made, so there should be no chance of sending items "for free". Unless you're posting... Source: over 1 year ago
  • Why do some traditional banks still not offer open banking?
I had a subscription with TrueLayer. The API service was smooth and their team updated me from time to time. They even helped me with regulation by giving us an agency under their FCA license. Eventually I transferred to Nordigen due to a friend’s recommendation. It was also free so why not. It was easy to integrate their program to my business model. One particular program I am happily using that involves open... Source: over 2 years ago

  • Looking for someone to share FMP (financialmodelingprep) API access with
I'm looking for someone to share the FMP (financialmodelingprep) starter plan, which is normal $19/month (annually). Source: 6 months ago
  • What would you like to see in a stock analysis app? (development in progress)
Hi, I use FMP as my data provider: https://site.financialmodelingprep.com/ , there are a few more comparable providers but FMP is the best for my needs. Source: about 1 year ago
  • 8 things that made me quitting learning programming and developing my first app — and how I overcame them and continued
Quite some time went by as I read about Financial Modeling Prep, an at this time relatively new finance API, in some online forum. It seemed very promising and suitable, as it was affordable, offered real-time prices, and also covered European assets. Of course, there were also some minor downsides, but more or less, all of my requirements were met, so the project was not dead at all but could finally continue. Source: over 1 year ago
  • Best source of financial data?
I use fmp. There are some limitations compared to others. The pros are its easy to integrate via REST and its free to use all thw historicals for reports and price data. Source: over 1 year ago
  • Sources for Historical Market Data
Another good source is https://site.financialmodelingprep.com/ I only request the financial statements but they also offer historical price quotes and stock prices for 1m candles for the last 50 years. They have a free tier but I do not know if the market data is part o it. Other prices start with 10$/month. I can not tell you if the 1m/1d candles are any good as I am only interested in SEC statements and news so... Source: over 1 year ago
