Tracklib VS Melody ML

Have you checked out tracklib.com? It's what I recommend to all my students for sampling. It's a huge catalog of vintage samples from major artists going back to the 50s and 60s, all pre-cleared. You might spend $50- $500 upfront to clear a sample and some percentage of your royalties, but worth it if your track ever blows up, you won't be dreading a lawsuit that will wipe away all your revenue. Keep in mind if you didn't pay for a license to use a sample from tracklib.com's library of pre-cleared samples (I don't think any other website is offering this) then you're unable to clear the sample as a producer because the artist you're sampling would need to hear the lyrical content of the finished song to make their decision/negotiate. I extracted the vocal stem using melody.ml so they already aren't great quality, right now I just have some basic equing and Soundgoodizer preset A on the master. Source: 9 months ago

Download his songs off youtube and then import em into melody.ml. Source: 11 months ago

Since it seems pretty similar to 302 you could also isolate the frequencies or extract all the parts to see how he mixed it. melody.ml is a decent way to have a quick look at volume levels and sounds used IMO. Source: 12 months ago

I'd study every single record of Midnight Star, D-Train, Shalamar, all that kind of stuff. Use https://melody.ml/ to isolate the bass so you can really hear what's going on. Source: about 1 year ago
