I came across this project after seeing a mod for the game Balatro [1] that used the artwork from the original Solitaire sourced from this repo. The README was so wholesome I thought. The developer obviously put a lot of care and attention into creating something they're proud of and hoped others would enjoy. I hope the person who created this notices the influx of attention its now getting and gets a kick out of... - Source: Hacker News / about 2 months ago
Thank you, we've done a little digging and found a way to force Steam to download the depot. We've published a guide here[1] and are currently waiting for a friend with a Mac to test it. [1] https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=3221158777. - Source: Hacker News / 2 months ago
I spent countless hours playing the DF2 demo that came on one of the computer magazine CDs in India (PC Quest I think). My favourite FPS by a long shot :) Here's a steam guide to upgrade to a fan made engine and really improve the graphics: https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=1778723490 Think it should work on the GOG version too. - Source: Hacker News / 2 months ago
Does it actually work though? Ironically my experience is that windows api + proton are a more stable target than anything linux native. Even valve doesn't get it always right when shipping linux versions of their own games. Game crashes all the time and you already did all of the above = all aboard the diagnostics train as it may be a number of things, from bad graphics card driver all the way overheating problems or malfunctioning components. Open Hardware Monitor is pretty simple and solid. Just look through all the statistics for anything that's a temperature and make sure none of them are higher than, say, 50c when idle, or ~80c when you're doing something. Laptops have a slightly wider range of acceptable temperatures so there wouldn't be any immediate cause for alarm if it was slightly hotter than that, as long as you were doing something...
