I read some posts on tonymacx86.com that someone was having troubles with OpenCore 0.7.4 and redid their hack under OpenCore 0.7.5 and got good results. I also found out that the iMac20,1 was a better mac to simulate than the mini, so I rebuilt my EFI files using OpenCore 0.7.5 Debug versions. Source: over 2 years ago

Does that answer your question though? Hopefully it gives you a starting point. Also, something I would suggest for troubleshooting the Bluetooth side, you can boot up a Live ISO of the latest Ubuntu (or other Linux OS) and you should be able to get in and test whether or not you can connect the controller over Bluetooth before you do an upgrade that may or may not help your issue.
