Use the platform your way. Remove Twitter’s game-ification by browsing it with Tweetbot (on mobile or Mac). [If you’re a PC/Android user, there are probably equivalents.] Turn off image thumbnails, autoplay and badges. Toggle retweets and quote-tweets depending on whether you want a quick Twitter catch-up or a deeper dive. Cull who you follow, keeping it to 200 or less. Delete your tweets at least once a month... To be more effective you can schedule your content with tools like ThreadStart, FeedHive, HypeFury. I started using HypeFury but it was expensive I switched to ThreadStart and I am still using it. I am quite satisfied with it, although it has some of its perks. Still, research a little bit and decide for yourself. What suits me doesn't mean will work for you also. Source: almost 2 years ago
