   THESE ARE NOT LIKE FOR LIKE COMPARISONS

   TMPGEnc Authoring Works is purely for authoring the finished film/video/footage. It is not a video editing product. All these other programs that it is being compared against, are just that Video Editing software. The program though does have the ability to edit, but that is not where it is aimed at in the market.

   I haven't found anything in this price range to compete with it. And I've used Wondershare which this site review showed a white wash over it by Wondershare. It goes beyond the capabilities of Wondershare. Wondershare is really aimed at those who want it all done for them. Whereas Authoring Works 6 enables you to tweak and get under the hood.

   When it comes down to Authoring the finished film, creating all the menus and so much more, it offers so much more than the general basics that all the others offer to varying degrees. But the results speak for themselves. There are no programs at the same price level that can match it it. It leaves them behind, once you have a basic understanding of it.

   The only step above are the top end professional authoring tools and you are talking mega expensive. I haven't used it in a while, hence the lack of detail that I have provided. I have been working in other areas. There are regular updates, you're not having upgrades to the next version thrown at you every five minutes and it is solid.

   It was hard to find when I started looking, but now I wouldn't go back to any other such software.
