  • How to limit long-running queries to Postgres? So that the PHP process does not hang up.
I am biased towards my product Tideways , alternatively you can check out Sentry, Blackfire or Datadog. Each of them runs on production. If you can reproduce this on development then Xdebug. Source: 6 months ago
  • The secret to low response time in GSC?
In a case like that iam usually using s tool like https://tideways.com/ to search for PHP or MySQL bottlenecks. It basically strips down every function or database query and Monitors it in realtime. There is a 14 day trial if you just want to use it once 😬. Source: about 1 year ago
  • How to profile your PHP applications with Xdebug
Last time I looked NewRelic's PHP experience wasn't quite there. Blackfire has been advertising an APM for ages but when I checked in April it still wasn't released to everyone. The one which never seems to appear on Google when people go looking for one is https://tideways.com/. I've used it multiple times with clients and it finds the problems in minutes. Another up-and-coming PHP profiler is from DataDog.... - Source: Hacker News / about 2 years ago
  • How to profile your PHP applications with Xdebug
Https://tideways.com/ however does and is a _fantastic_ alternative to NewRelic for PHP codebases. I've no link to it other than as a satisfied customer. It's saved me loads of time, usually in crisis moments when there's no time to spend on debugging the production service because things have to work again. - Source: Hacker News / about 2 years ago
  • Website is loading slowly for me when logged in, but normally for other visitors
If that does not help much I recommend using a APM like tideways or newrelic ( both have good free plans ) . Both can help dwell down where time is going. If you wish to go the free route you can explore xdebug ( Not easy but get the job done ). Source: almost 3 years ago

  • A PageSpeed insight report, but for every page in your domain
Trust neither. The most optimal option I've found is webpagetest.org Its been quite handy lately. This tool does look interesting. Source: 12 months ago
  • How are you all accurately checking your website load time? Not sure PageSpeedInsights is very helpful.
Webpagetest.org is another. Pagespeedinsights and lighthouse are great for identifying page load issues to fix, but actual page load times will always vary between the user and your web server. Universal analytics has some page load timings but that's going away soon and nothing afaik is in GA4. I've seen an example of building a page load timer in tag manager and dumping the results into an event. Source: about 1 year ago
  • Extreme confusing over Speed Index results -- webpagetest.org
So I am working on rebuilding our company's site with a new stack. I am running tests using webpagetest.org, and I am having trouble fully understanding the speed index results as well as the film strip view. The page renders quite fast everywhere I test it. Google Lighthouse shows it in the 90s + for performance score, however when I test the page on webpagetest, I get load times of 77 seconds (NOT MS) which is... Source: about 1 year ago
  • Does anyone else experience pure ecstasy when they get 100 on Lighthouse? 😩
Webpagetest.org is great, and checking OP's site they have done an incredible job, I don't think I have ever made or seen an Ecom site this slick. Super clean waterfall view. Source: about 1 year ago
  • Performance scores for Google Lighthouse/Insights seem to be very inaccurate
Thanks for the recommendation regarding webpagetest.org, another user made a similar recommendation so I will check it out. Source: about 1 year ago
