There are actually a couple of good GUI bulk file renamers. I'm fond of the one built into xfce's Thunar file manager [1], but there is also ReNamer [2] and Ant Renamer [3]. I use MacBook Pro (Retina, 15-inch, Mid-2014) with Manjaro as OS using i3 as a window manager. It isn't perfect, but I'm thrilled with it.
