This app was used to organise protesters in Kuala Lumpur. They anticipated the government would shut down the cell network…which they did. You can also use Mesh services on your phone even if you don't have a sim card. http://servalproject.org/ When my kids were younger we had them all using Serval Mesh for a long time to stay in contact with one another and such but we were fortunate to live in an area with an abundance of free WiFi just about everywhere so it was used sparingly but came in handy in a pinch. I can't help but feel jealous and bitter when I come across a news article or whisper.sh message about how people found their true love. Some stories for example about a lady who was nearly murdered by her abusive ex and eventually married the paramedic that saved her life. Tbh, I'm surprised it took this long for the app to be taken down. It was 99% scammers. You can verify the app has been taken down by visiting their website and clicking get app. The play store doesn't take you to link to download it and if you search for "whisper," it doesn't show up at all. You do get a lot of scraper sites, but then you also get some weird ones. Someone used one of my drawings as a backdrop to a confession on whisper.sh. Pixsy found it. They also found a site that was offering free HD wallpaper downloads (no idea where they would have gotten an HD image file since I don't post those just anywhere) and they had one of my paintings on their site.
